Located in Noe Valley, this renovation reimagines a house as a living gallery—one that grows with its owners’ expanding collection of artworks and objects. Materials were selected for their ability to age gracefully, allowing the home to accumulate history rather than resist it.
Exterior interventions establish a tonal palette of blues across plaster, windows, and metalwork. Inside, reclaimed redwood framing from the original structure was repurposed into custom architectural elements.
Lighting replaces the typical hierarchy of recessed fixtures with sculptural surface-mounted forms that create rhythm and atmosphere. The house becomes less a neutral container for art and more an active participant in the life of the collection.
